How Performance Colors are Determined

Last Updated: Sep 06, 2016 04:22PM CDT

Colors are used throughout the survey results site to display summary information about performance on questions, measures, and essentials.

Colors on the 5Essentials puzzle icon are determined by essential scores, and colors on the measure bars are determined by measure scores. These colors are determined as follows: scores of 0-19=dark red; 20-39=light red; 40-59=yellow; 60-79=light green; 80-100=dark green. In the state of Illinois, these colors are based on the same numeric scale, using shades of purple.

Colors for the overall 5Essentials performance are determined by the net performance of a school across Essentials. Schools strong on the 3-5 essentials are dark green or deep purple (Illinois). Schools needing support on 3-5 essentials are dark red or lavender (Illinois).
